I am almost finished planting all my pepper plants (and some others too). I planted 2 chiltepins, 2 pequins, one chocolate hab, and a few other kinds of plants this afternoon. I have one chiltepin, one pequin, one dedo de ??? from Brazil, one poblano and one serrano left to plant and I am finished until next year (except for some more cucumbers, lettuces, stuff like that). None of my plants are all that tall yet, the Dedo is about 4 inches high and one of my chiletepins has large leaves but not much height. All the other plants are quite short still. I find that my peppers don't get very tall until August or September. Should I fertilize more or what? I use fish emulsion and Gardener's Supply Roots Plus. Usually both seem to work pretty well for me here in NJ and I have amended soil that is still somewhat crappy (even after putting in some manure and other natural stuff). I don't have access to much compost, so I use stuff I get in bags locally - composted manure, peat moss, stuff like that. I try to use all organic methods of bug control (my chile/onion/garlic/urine spray usually works well) and it has worked well for 7 years. I haven't seen a cutworm or aphid of any kind in quite awhile. So what should I do to boost the height of these guys? Most are in the ground, 4 are in pots (Bolivian Rainbow, Chocolate Hab, Yatsafusa, and Serrano). RisaG
