You mentioned UC Santa Cruz..........A recent travel tip suggested that many colleges allow use of dorm rooms as hotel rooms during the summer season. New Mexico State University in Las Cruces has dorms, and an ag department that has some Chile specialists and researchers (or so I've been told.) It also has plenty of sandy beaches............just no ocean. I think there might even be some local growers in the neighborhood. (New Mexico is a big neighborhood.) Might try them @ http://www.nmsu.edu/~hotchile/ I am told their Home Economics department also has more than a few recipes. If the timing is right you might tie it in with the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, just up the pike a piece. ('Bout October I think.) Might also check on the timing of the Santa Fe Fiesta. You REALLY need to see them Burn Zozobra. Not sure of dates on that. Just possibilites. Mike. People can camp in our meadow or they could stay at hotels at the beach. I would be willing to bet that at UC Santa Cruz there would be some good speakers...Not saying I'm ready to commit but I'll think about it. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
