Well, as Jim Sr is aware, my late father was the guy who drove the first motorized fire engine in the city of Toronto, in the early 1900's, and when I joined the R.C.A.F. in the early fifties, as a photographer, one of the neat jobs we all got to do at least once every two months, was fire picket duty, which lasted for a week every two months. Well once when I was on this neat job, a fire erupted in the base garbage dump, and of course, it happened when I was on duty.....oh boy, really neat.....have you ever tried to fight a fire in a garbage dump, which spontaniously ignited, in the middle of the night? I would rather eat chiles....speaking of which, and to try and stay on topic, I picked up a jar of Sambal Badjak, made in USA and sold by Huy Fong Foods....www.huyfong.com in Rosemead California. A little too much oil to eat from the jar, as I found out, but for cooking it will be great, I will just use less peanut oil!.....no affilliation, etc., etc., but I wish I had, the way these guys put stuff on the market. Great flavor, like as in HOT, and it stays with you also, the result of the oil....for all you vinegar lovers??? it does have vinegar, but it has so much oil that the vinegar disappears. Anyway, there ya go, with some ancient history! And some recent as well! Cheers, Doug in BC....and Joy, turn that poor mister loose, ifn ya got too much water in the greenhouse!!
