Since the last growing update (ie. "Germination adventures" - June 16th), the following stuff has been going on :- * Four of my varieties are now flowering, the Aji Gold's, Giant Serrano's, Red Sella's and Bolivian Rainbow's. * One of the Giant Serrano's has produced it's first fruit ! Ok, it's only 1cm long at the moment, but that's not the point :o)) * The Aji Gold's still the largest, now standing at 28" (from 15" on the 16th), closely followed by the fruiting Giant Serrano at 26". * All of the plants are still in pots, although the largest have now graduated to 11" (10 litre) ones. * One of my Mexibell's has germinated, better late than never eh ? * The conservatory is nearing completion and the invasion of potted chillies has already begun ! As a footnote, my best growing plants are now amongst those which I brought into work about a month or so ago, at that time they were only the second best example of each of their respective varieties (I kept the best of each at home in the greenhouse). Now however these ones on the windowsill at work have surpassed the ones recently moved from the greenhouse to the conservatory at home. This has to be temperature related surely - the greenhouse is generally much hotter during the day but cooler during the night, whilst the office full of never-switched-off computers is fairly hot during the day, but still reasonably warm overnight (not that I make a habit of staying there overnight of course.....). <<happy days nonetheless>> Tony.
