I live in Ashdod Israel and it has not reached the freezing point here once in the 4 1/2 years that we have been in town. We are on the Mediterranean coast. It is truly a hot spot. It is now 3:40 AM and I am awake because it is too hot to sleep, but the peppers love this kind of weather. I am not on- line now so don't try to figure time zones by the top of the page. My garden has a northern exposure and it doesn't seem to bother my peppers, lemon tree, or other things that might not love your New England climate. This is not a fish story! I really have 3 plants in their 5th year and one in its 3rd. Several serrenos in their 2nd year were pulled up because they had powdery mildew. Ashdod is not a farming community but one of the larger cities in Israel. It is really nice here but we can't get fresh cranberries. Thanks for writing. Akiva
