I'm growing a few different peppers in my office. They are: A second year super chile (awesome production this year) A Red Savina (up, big, leafy, blossoms, but no fruit yet) A NuMex #6-4 (BIG, leafy, and the first two pods coming along fine) and a JingleBell, that is the gist of my question. Oh yeah, I also have a Hab grown from burpee seeds - lemme tell you how huge the difference between seeds from burpee at the local k-mart and seeds from tough-love. Order the stuff from tough love - they're awesome!! OK, back to the question setup: I grew all these plants in peat pots, then just moved them to real pots when they were starting to take. The silly little JingleBell grew sideways for about six inches when I transplanted it a few months ago, and then grew about 8 inches straight up. Then it just kinda hung out for about six weeks, while the NuMex and Red Savina got huge. Then, all of the sudden, the JingleBell started growing straight up again a few weeks ago. Now it has a single, spindly stalk about four feet high with leaves every six inches or so. It just set fruit this week, and the weight of the single pepper growing on top is pulling the spindly stalk back down towards the ground. So what the heck do I do? Do I stake it? Do I prune it? Do I let it flop back down to the ground and grow like the golden arches (hmmmm....peppers on a QP-Cheese....)? Anxiously awaiting an answer, while munching on fresh super chilis...... - JJ
