My apologies for a belated posting regarding Tongues of Fire III, our third annual hotluck. It has been very disrupted since TOF3...we had a death in the family of a close relative along with replacing my computer which decided to expire. Unfortunately, my terrific memory does not allow me to remember all the wonderful food that was brought and consumed. Excellent food in a wide variety. I believe we had around 30+ folks here. I'd like to thank those who traveled quite a ways to get here Chris Kaufman, Alan Kantrud (who arrived in the Habmobile!), Renee Watson, Green56, Shanti and her husband and Dorothy. My apologies if I forgot anyone who came from a distance. I'd also like to thank P. Dierking, who could not attend, but mailed some Manaali Pepper seeds for those who wanted to try growing them. Thanks! Jim Campbell's "Bread" was again a hit and the challenge for those attending!!! I think this years batch was especially good. Anyone who tryed the bed was entered in a t-shirt contest...the shirt said "Pain is Good"...Henry Plaget won the shirt. We were especially entertained with Alans story about making a tuna salad sandwich from "The Bread"!!!! I don't think he'd recommend anyone else try this! Chris Kaufman and Alan easily won our sauce tasting and identification contest..if I remember right they got six of six correct. All were red sauces with one exception. I believe a good time was had by all. The weather was splendid! There was certainly enough to food to eat! Again, my memory is poor as to who brought what. I'll do better next year when things hopefully will not be so chaotic and try to get the recipes up on the net. We may have some pictures of TOF3 which I'll scan (when I get it working again). ***I'd highly recommend asking green56 for her chicken recipe...perhaps it could be posted to the list. One regret was with the family crisis, we didn't get our jalepeno and habanero popsicles made...NEXT YEAR! Thanks to all who atteneded. It was great meeting some of you for the first time. Hopefully, we will have a TOF4 next summer and you all will come again! Dean & Karleen
