Fellow ChDs, Anyone else finding copper colored beetles out there chewing on their chile plants? These suckers look just like Japanese beetles but for the color. I've never seen them at "raised bed-ville" before this year and I've been gardening in New England for 40 years. These little monsters hide in the ground at the base of chile plants by day (I found them when I surreptitiously flooded the roots of my drought plagued plants) and chomp away merrily by night. Beyond squishing them between my fingers, I haven't resorted to any thermonuclear strategies - yet. Any suggestions? Gareth the ChileKnight tilting at windmills and beetles
