I usually take the seeds out and air dry them for a few days. Then I put them in a strainer and give them a few shakes. This lets all of the small dried stuff fall through and leaves you with just the seeds. For storage, the most important variables are temperature and humidity. I pack the seeds in the really small zip lock envelopes along with a couple small dessicant packs. Then store in the refrigerator around 40F. They will last a couple of years easily using this method (but by then you will have even more seeds!). I have really cut back on saving seeds however because of the relative ease at which peppers will cross pollinate. I read somewhere that the big commercial producers separate varieties by at least a mile to avoid crossing. At 08:36 AM 8/12/99 -0400, Scott W.
