I don't think ants are eating your habs, Usually the only reason ants are on your plants is because they are looking for aphid sectretions. Look at your plants real close for aphids. They are about this size "-" What exactly do the holes look like ?. There is a Bacterial spot that looks like holes. Can be seed or soil borne. Most modern chemicals are supposed to break down with in a week to 10 day's, My favorite after tobacco juice is Methoxychlor. You can harvest peppers the next day. Byron
