At least you have seen your bug. I have had a bug chewing on my fruit this year and last year. Some checking based on the damage also came up with "some type of fruitworm". I have yet to actuallly eye- ball one of these critters in the act. Last year it was eating holes in the fruit and ruining it, mostly on the habs. I used Sevin to knock it back. This year I have not used Sevin against it. (No, I haven't gone all squishy-organic.) I am actually not using anything against it as I don't want to disembowel the pollinators ( finally got a rocoto to set a fruit) or the praying mantis that has made my habaneros his/her home. Been there for 2 solid months, patrolling the plants, and is currently working the lone Datil plant. I have noticed far less damage from the fruitworm, and only 2 or three ruined fruit. Most of the damage is just a little bite that doesn't go all the way through and allow rot to set in. I cut away the pre-tasted portion when the fruit ripens. Scott... happy to have this garden companion... KCK
