Hey guys, just signed up with this list a few days ago, and must say I've found it informative, entertaining, and enlightening (always lurk for a few days before posting just in case I end up thinking "Ewwwwww, whatta buncha marooons!" ;D ;D I'm a fellow chile head in Richmond, VA; always plant a "salsa garden" every spring (cilantro, tomatoes, peppers) using every available ledge, fire escape or back porch I've got. This year it's a fire escape, and must say, my habaneros are doing QUITE nicely; have already harvested five (all the same deep orange color and size; hmmmm, maybe I should submit them to the state fair, lol!) These are currently drying in my oven------plan to harvest more over the weekend and make some hot sauce (have never tried this before, should be fun, need to stock up on latex gloves! Luckily I work in a hospital so these are everywhere :) :) Was growing tomatoes too, but these? not so good, so I ended up taking the wire screen thingy off the tomato plant and putting it in/around the habanero plant. I'm using a huge plastic pot made for planting trees, and the 4 plants in this pot have gotten HUGE (or at least much bigger than they were last year when I grew them inside). It's like "screw the tomatoes, just look at them peppers!!!" :D Your stories on lutefisk are hysterical; they remind me of a farmer's cookbook I came across at Whiting's Paper a few years ago (antique paper shop). In it was a recipe for rice cooked with lye. The last step in the recipe? "If possible rinse cooked rice under running water----------------------------for 4 HOURS!" LOLOLOL, this still cracks me up. keep them recipes coming! I've never used the "cut/paste" feature so much in my life :) fellow chile head Jenee Jordan (with an accent thingy, but I know this list is "mime challenged" so I'll leave it off, pronounced "juh nay" yeah I know, I know, my parents were hippies whattya want from me anyway? :D :D "Like a guy in a bra, it's the idea that counts" ---Greg Brown visit my webpage: www.penpapercoffee.com pen, paper, coffee - the elements of writing
