Hi there Been a while since I last posted. As hoped, my chile crop is the best achieved in the 3 years that I have been growing. One or two disappointments, the tabascos hve not flowered yet & I only have one Mulato per plant! MOst surprising have been the Rocotos from Cameron's seeds. The smaller plant has two large pods just turned red, while the larger plant has grown into the biggest chile bush so far, & has several pods on it. Maybe they like the UK climate?! Which leads me to a question - I want to make a salsa with the Rocotos. Would they better suit a Tomato or fruit salsa (Mango/Papaya etc.)? A major mishap befell the larger (4 foot) of the two Aji Amarillos - just as it was about to flower, a squirrel took it upon itself to gnaw clean through the stem. It was about to do the same to one of the Rocotos, but I through stones at it. I protected the rest of the plants (all in pots by the way) by placing stones around the base of the stem - seems to have done the trick. THe squirrels certainly won't be getting any nuts from me this winter... Paul
