I have LOTS of pepper volunteers & believe I'm in the same Zone
(Indianapolis).  The beds around my house have several dozen volunteers
from last year that I've let grow to see what they look like.  Still, I
wouldn't recommend the freezer either.

Headed to the fields with half the state of Ohio it seems :-)  Expecting
about 20 people or more for the 'open fields' invite.
