>Just heard on NPR's "Morning Edition" that Monsanto has >decided not to market their GM Terminator seed technology. >That's what they announced - the reason given being >"too much opposition". > >What it means to me, cynic that I am, is that they will find a >back-door scheme to make money with the death seeds. Cynic that I am, I notice they didn't specify *where* they weren't going to market, or *where* the opposition was. Did they say they were scrapping the entire project? (I wouldn't expect it.) Maybe they reserve the right to market the junk during a future period of lessened oppostion? Sounds like 3rd world countries can look forward to seeing this stuff sooner than one might think. As much as I appreciate "better living through chemistry", I want my open-pollinated chiles to remain terminator/Bt/whatever-the- hell-else-they-can-think-of free. Scott... KCK
