I haven't checked other seed >sources, but this sounds ominous. A quick (double)-check at 11:15 CDT found the following: Chocolate Habs from Redwood City (1999-2000) 25 seeds for $7.50 + $1.00 shipping == 34.0 cents/seed Pepper Joe's had Brown Congo. Numerous sites listed Choco Hab AKA Congo Black. (Used as a _rough_ comparison only!) 10 seeds for $3.99 + $1.50 shipping == 54.9 cents/seed Choco Hab plants from Cross Country Nurseries (minimum order 12 plants, $2.00 each) 12 plants for $24.00 + $9.00 shipping == 2.75 dollars/plant It seems as though the prices for ChocoHab (and related) are higher than most others, but you should ask yourself a few questions regarding seed prices: How seriously do you want to grow that variety? Will the seeds germinate at a reasonably high percentage rate? Is it worth it if the seeds grow true? Is it worth the extra bucks to get past the seeds and go directly to plants? You can only answer these questions for yourself, and sometimes only after experience with the variety and/or supplier. I know *my* answers to these questions... do you? These numbers are for comparison only. No affiliation with any seed/plant provider. Scott... and in the end it is still: caveat emptor... KCK
