Thanks a lot for the many answers to my question! I got a couple of messages stating that self-incompatibility in C. pubescens seems to be much less common than reported -- often other reasons seem to be the cause, not only absence of pollinators. High temperatures and youth of the plants seem to be reducing fertility. Many told me they have fruits on single rocoto plants although some did not fruit in the first year. So I'll hope for the next season, thanks again for your help!!! Best regards, Stefan. -- Dipl.-Inform. Stefan P.
