Hi C-H's, And especially Calvin, Tom, Carpo, Mark and Doug. I posted a recipe for haggis+cayenne way back in Vol. 1 but actually any haggis recipe that you like (and that's an oxymoron for most of you) is a good repository for Capsicum substances. A marinade for jerky can be made very simply by liquidizing habs (or savinas etc.) in a blender with teriyaki sauce. Leave overnight or longer - not in fridge - before drying. According to "Hobby Farmers", teriyaki sauce can be made from soy sauce and sherry. While we're in the tripe, haggis, anchovy and all the other stuff that grosses out Yanks, here's one that almost got me. Gavin"the boy wonder" (fastest creature on planet Earth) has taken to asking (with an evil grin) for Marmite and strawberry jam sandwiches as a snack treat. I thought he was just doing this to jerk my chain, but last weekend, after a lot of hesitation, I tried a small piece and was amazed to discover that it does not taste like any of the ingredients, and is in fact pretty good. One point to Gav! --- Regards, Cameron.
