For all those of you living in other parts of the country, yes, this is an ongoing bit of general belligerence between the "North" and the flatlanders...oops, I mean our friends down South. If you drive around the right parts of WI enough, you can even spot a few "Don't Illinnoy Me" bumper stickers. But overall, we certainly do try to promote peace and good will for everyone (once they're parked anyway). Sorry, I guess this a bit off-topic................um....................chiles are yummy. ? Whole damn crop froze two weeks ago, and it hasn't got back down to under 40 since. Oh cruel fate, why do you mock me so? (I think Homer said that once.) Confidential (and VERY off-topic, sorry) to whoever it was that posted the Weird Al reference a few weeks ago (The Twister rap thing). He came to Milwaukee on the 5th., and I can't say enough about what an amazing show he puts on. First time seeing him live; plan to go again every time he comes anywhere nearby. I know I've seen at least on or two posts mentioning Jean Andrews book "The Domesticated Capsicums". I would offer my assessment of it as a text, but it is mainly used for adorning the coffee table, while I continue to use my reading time for tearing up snail spam and catalogs. I would like to point out, however, that she does offer a solution of bleach and water (1:5, then soap and water as necessary) to decrease the effects of capsaicin on the skin. (Page 137 for those of you following along at home.) I somehow think this would be a really bad thing to try on contact lenses, keyboards, your mouse, etc...... I did use it on a few fingers a few weeks ago when I got a bit desperate, and it did definitely have positive results. -E.-
