Margaret Lauterbach Roger To add to this, Jerry Bakers stuff, Rodales and over a dozen US AG School IPM's ESP NCSU where dishsoap is being studied as a chemical control for tobacco mosaic virus, It does inactivate this virus. The study is now in the minimum amounts needed per application and minimum applications for cost effectiveness. So for the biggest problem I have seen is folks getting the wrong directions or acidently mixing it wrong. Or using the wrong soap. 1, Use only the real cheap stuff, The concentrated and antibacterial soaps will kill your plants. 2. Use 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon in 1 gal of water >>>NOT 1tbsp per QT<<< 3. DO NOT apply during the heat of the day, apply first thing in the AM or right after the sun is off the plants in the PM. >>>Mid day applications will bake the soap onto the plants.<<<
