         How about this: You actually start to *enjoy* Hunan hand.  Okay, 
so that's better defined by "You know you're a masochist when..." but 
aren't we all? ;)  Of course, there's always insisting on turning up the 
twinge on the Indian food that sends people running and choking from the 
house by using habs instead of what's actually called for...
