Yes, it is quiet in my garden at the moment, except for my stellar serranos (!). Even though we have short days, night time lows of 40 degrees, but warm sunny days in the high 60s, we harvested 143 fire engine red serranos from our four plants last week. Amazing for mid December. The interesting thing about them is that they have not lost their fire, in contrast to my jalapenos last year, which lived until we had a hard frost. By this time of year, the jalapenos had the kick of a bell pepper, which was very disappointing. Needless to say, we are enjoying using the fresh chiles in our Indian cooking:) Ron Van Nuys, CA
