I have a pretty good recipe for spiced pecans. Took them to a party last night and they were a hit. I use 3 tbs. butter, 1 tbs. ancho powder, 1 tsp. hot chile powder (I used Cayenne, you might use less if using hab powder), 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 tsp. cumin, 1 tbs. sugar, salt to taste about 1/2 tsp I think and 1 1/2 - 2 cups pecans. Melt butter and stir in other ingred. Mix well, stir in pecans and coat well. Place in baking pan and bake in preheated 300 oven for 8 to 10 min. I need some spicy Christmas recipes that are not really complicated to make for my Suite 101 article due tomorrow. Could include turkey, ham, beef, side dishes etc. TIA, Judy Howle Flavors of the South http://www.ebicom.net/~howle Hot and Spicy Cuisine Editor, Suite 101 http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/hot_and_spicy_cuising
