I had dinner with a bunch of folks the other night at a place here in San Antonio called Liberty Bar. It is an upscale place that strives mightily to be funky. Judging by the crowds, they have achieved commercial success buy judging by my crab cakes, they have achieved culinary success too. There were two themes to them that worked to achieve it. The first was lots of crab meat and the second was a great mix of seasonings dominated by minced jalapeņos. I would imagine that the seasoning was Old Bay but you can't hide jalapeņos.
