So I was trying to save my self the Pump out Fees of $42 oz per fortnight [currently running about $90] - I got sewerage about 8-9 yrs ago and when we went into a El Nino Pattern 6 yrs ago the Council sent out literature suggesting we all use our Grey water to irragate the gardens.. I was pretty %$%*&^ off, believe me.. FWIW when we were renting yrs ago we lived in a small upstairs 1 bed place, The landlord who lived below, spent the best part of a year remodeling his bathroom and set up a temporary shower in his external Laundry which was below the steps, I had a small Chile plant growing there and it flourished as did a self sown Tomato which grew to about 6 ft with a stem about 2 inches thick, [note this was soap and possibly shampoo only, although he was a miserable sob and I could not see him purchasing shampoo without a gun to his head.] I don't think clothes detergent is terribly good for the garden, too many phosphates but look at soap favorably..
