Three theories, from least to most likely:

The El Grande Theory (least likely):

El Grande is extremely unhappy that no American boat is in the 
America's Cup finals.

The Mad Scientist Theory:

Cameron and his associates are using a new unannounced 
technique to extract the heat from seeds and are selling it to Dave 
for a new "Rocoto Insanity Sauce".

The Heat Rises Theory (most likely):

Every one knows that at the bottom of the world (Southern 
Hemisphere) plants grow upside down. Therefore since heat rises, 
it will be found in the roots. Also known as the "Roots Vs. Fruits 
Theory".
