I saw a list where it was the best all around food for various nutrients and I thought the Vit.C content was one of the things that boosted it to the top of the list. Up until that point I, too, thought our fruit of the El Grande was at the top of that scale. I think cantaloupe was second but it has been a long time since I saw that list.
