With all the bad weather news from Canada and the American NE I'm hesitant to say anything. Between 4 am and 7 am this morning we had 7 inches of rain. The neighbor behind me was within 1/2 inch of having water in his house. The storm sewers were so full they were lifting the manhole covers above the street level. Luckily we have electricity but the municipal officials are telling everyone to stay home until the water goes down, many major streets and roads are flooded. School was cancelled and government offices were closed. Another stroke of luck is that it is about 72 degrees out today and we have opened the house up. All the yard work was finished yesterday, leaves mulched and added to the compost, all the rain gutters cleared and rinsed out, etc. I slow-cooked a pot roast yesterday with carrots and shallots from our garden and we had broccoli, Bok Choy, and cauliflower to go with it. Nature's bounty fell on us twice - once from the garden and the second time from the sky. Believe it or not we are now caught up on rainfall whereas we were behind a bit before today. Maybe we'll have another record year like 1991 when we got 100 inches. Hope all are surviving. George
