After reading your excellent note (many thanks), I'm going to keep the 
horseradish contained in its own area. I'm glad to hear you say that mixed 
plantings (other than greens)  don't work out too well in vegetable 
gardens. That's been my feeling after trying it for a few seasons, but 
I've put it down to my own relative inexperience.
