Took off for Splendora, Texas at 0900 this morning and returned at 1819.
Quick turnaround for us. Sleepy Dawg was well behaved on the trip, reckon
she's becoming a seasoned traveler now. She's exhausted and slept all the
way back and is still sleeping. The bigger pups in the pack, 3 grandkids,
wore her to a frazzle and 4 acres of ground to cover with lots of new
scents didn't help.

The daughter has installed 4 new raised beds and has some good looking
chile, tomato, eggplant, kohlrabi, and lettuce plants going. We took her a
few starts out of our garden and in return she had a case of mixed pint and
quart fruit jars for me. As long as she returns the empties I continue
giving her canned stuff, works for us.

Had a delicious meal of smoked ham, green beans and new potatoes, potato
salad, deviled eggs, lemon meringue pie, and carrot cake. All very good and
prepared nicely. My daughter was taught to cook by an expert - ME.

Granddaughter, age 11, (be 12 in November) is now 5 feet 4 inches tall,
wears a ladies size 9 1/2 shoe and a ladies size 9 dress. The oldest boy,
age 17, is topped out at 6 feet, 2 inches, and 200 lbs, wears a size 14
shoe. Middle boy is 5 feet 10 inches, will be 15 this month, but only
weighs about 130. Still wears a size 10 shoe. By my calculations the three
of them ate about $150.00 worth of food during the day today. The dog was
getting a little nervous around them they ate so much.

Friends, it was a good day and I wish you all a good night. Hoping your
Sunday was as beneficial to your mental health as mine was. Life is good.
