We have two separate clumps of a terrestrial orchid that are in bloom. The bloom only lasts for about 12 hours but is very pretty. There are 3 white petals with 4 semi-closed petals in the center. Each bloom stalk will have anywhere from 1 to 3 blooms. My eldest sister got them somewhere and gave us a start. The plant seems to divide easily and grows quickly. I don't have enough info to ask for help identifying but just wanted to tell someone about these gorgeous orchids that are blooming on my potting bench and in a front flower bed now. We have 4 to 5 blooms each day and they have a most delicate fragrance. The amaryllis are still in full bloom with another stalk opening its blooms each day or so. Saw some in a garden down the street yesterday that were an almost white pink. Stopped and talked to the lady who lived there and arranged a swap for a couple of bulblets. She wants some of our terrestrial orchid so guess it's a good deal. The neighbor on our east side has an orange and white amaryllis that she is willing to share so we are increasing the amaryllis collection every year. We have baby amaryllis putting up leaves now that won't bloom for another year or so. As they were planted from seed we are awaiting the blessed event anxiously that we may see if we get any strange colors. Ain't gardening fun? George, waiting on the rains that are threatening
