Allen, then it does sound as if one could raise more squash 
in the cooler climates -- once the corn comes in locally, I'll be able 
to quiz the young farmer about the problem with squash. Of
course, he may and he may not tell me the truth..  Years ago my 
son worked at the farm stand during the summer, and he was
incensed that they quietly included all kinds of veggies and fruits
which they had not raised themselves. Everyone took for granted
that it was all home grown. And my poor son had a youthful vision
of a perfect world, which we all know it just isn't..
