Has anyone on the list grown edible luffa gourds? I understand the one shaped like a giant okra is better for eating than the round ones. As of the publishing date of "The Gourd Book" (1979) the botanical name was Luffa acutangula. Seeds Blum says it takes 120 days to mature, but I'd guess it would be much, much earlier when it would start to pump out small luffas, and if you're going to eat them, you harvest them at 4 to 6 inches. Otherwise you eat your backscrubber. Margaret
