Very good article Kay. One of the things we learned in the Middle East,
where cholera is endemic, was to wash vegetables well and then soak in a
1 part bleach to 100 parts water bath for 10 minutes, then allow to air
dry. The company toxicologists recommended it. Since we use a lot of
composted manure we still do it as an additional safety measure.
