[gardeners] Thursday in the garden

Let's see, what can I do to really irritate the folks who are still
frozen in? How about this, today we put up the netting and planted the
lageneria longissima seedlings. They are about 10 inches tall and
sending out those tentacles already. Also planted two Longhorn and two
Figaro Pimiento chiles. We took some other 4X4 nylon netting we had and
tied it up the west side of the greenhouse at an angle and then planted
two different types of cukes at the bottom. Idea being that the cukes
have a place to climb and will also furnish badly needed shade to the
greenhouse in the heat of summer. We barely beat the deluge and are
still under flash flood warnings for low-lying areas. I always get a
chuckle out of that as the whole blooming state is a low-lying area. ;-)

Tomorrow, with any luck, we will plant tomato and chile seedlings
throughout the rest of the veggie garden. If we don't have that luck we
will go visit Big Lots and Sam's Club to see what is out there. A friend
told me today that he thought he had seen 5 ounce hot sauce bottles at
Sam's and by the case. Sure hope so or I'll have to order them off the
web.

Off to bath and bed - a good night to all.
