Went out this afternoon in the 91F heat and picked a bucket of green
beans. Will can them all tomorrow in the pressure canner. Will yank the
rest of the broccoli out of the ground tomorrow as it is flowering as
quick as it makes a head. May get enough for one more meal out of them.

The scarlet runner beans have bean pods on them about 3 inches long now
and the black Spanish radishes are starting to make bigger roots.
Finally looked them up and they say under the right conditions they may
make a root up to 2 lbs. Tried one today and they're hotter than hot
chiles. Wonder what I'll be able to do with them. Picked another little
mess of 'maters today, from the HeatWave II plant we held over the
winter. Finally staked the other tomatoes and they're all blooming and
the bees are working the garden like crazy. The pimiento chiles are
about the size of large jalapenos now so shouldn't be much longer before
they are ready to start picking. All of the other chiles are blooming
and some have small fruit already.
