If you have the material, The pilgrims, in Plymouth MA, made theirs out of
rock
in the 1620's they are still there.

if you have the $$, Calif redwood and cypress works,

Yellow pine with 3 or 4 coats of exterior paint will last longer than
without.

Cinder block AKA Cement Masonary Units also work

Just a few thoughts.
