Oops, Margaret -- here's the confusion:

The Ocean Spray fresh cranberry bag says:
1 bag fresh (or frozen) cranberries (3-1/2 cups) (12 oz)
	1 cup water
	1 cup sugar

My daughter's recipe says:
	1 bag cranberries (3-1.2 cups) (12 oz)
3/4 cup plus 2 TBL water
                   2-1/4 cups sugar
	dash of cinamon
	dash of cloves
	dash of allspice
	1/2 tsp orange peel

Big difference! Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, then let cool
thoroughly.
Well, it's w-a-y too wattery. I simmered mine for a total of 30 minutes,
in
order to thicken it when it cooled. Less water would have been better.

Now that's really cranberry sauce.

This is cranberry relish a la Paul Prudhomme:

1 lb package of cranberries (check label)
	1-1/2 cups of sugar
	2 T vanilla extract
Juice and pulp from 2/3 of a lemon, seeded
2 oranges peeled, sliced and seeded

Rinse berries and discard any wrinkled ones or stems.

Place the cranberries, sugar and vanilla in a food processor.
Process a few seconds to reduce bulk. Add the lemon and process
5 seconds. Add the oranges and process until just mixed, about
5 seconds.

Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours before serving.
