Sitting on the little cedar bench out front about five minutes ago, admiring the flowers Miz Anne has planted there. Lo, and Behold, a ruby-throated male hummingbird came around the corner of the house and was sipping from the iris. Watched him for awhile and then went to get the feeders ready. This is the earliest I've seen them arrive since we came here 12 years ago. Hope the little fellow is a harbinger of hundreds more as I do enjoy watching them fight it out over the feeders.
