Spent an enjoyable weekend in Houston area with our daughter and her
children. Arrived at her house on Saturday about 1115 and returned home
at 1215 today. Also made a stop in Beaumont to spend an hour with my
eldest sister. She is reduced to gardening on her front porch in the
retirement village she lives in. Has several pots of her favorite
bromeliads residing there and a chair where she can sit and admire the
plants.

The grandchildren, teenagers all, were busy with their own pursuits but
the middle boy and I discussed the cacti he is growing, and keeping for
his Dad who moved to Montana and is now working in Singapore. The cacti
were all healthy and he gave me a small one whose name I forget but it
is purple and grows sorta crazy like. The eldest grandson, age 19, is in
love and didn't spend much time at home, irking his mother no end.
(chuckle)She got over it when he and his sweetie showed up at Easter
Mass and then came home for dinner of ham and all the fixings.

All in all we had a good time but are glad to be home. We've been
watering, feeling leaves, checking fruit, and mainly, admiring, our
gardens since we got in. Sleepy Dawg slept all the way back and is still
napping off and on. It's a big responsibility for a small dog to
suddenly have four more people and a cat to look after.

Hope all had a good weekend and were with family and friends.
