I guess people tend to expect that a company with a reputation for making a
good product will provide good support.  There are a lot of complaints about
Nikon support, too.

My brother-in-law repaired an HP IIIP for his mother a while back.  I think
he said it took a couple hours of work to get the $25 part installed.  I
don't think it would have been worth it if he'd charged her for labor.
