Miz Anne, Sleepy, and myself left home at 0700 on Saturday, arriving at our daughter's house at 0915. We left shortly afterward to go to the church and take our instruction to be godparents, a two hour course. Spent relaxing afternoon with daughter and granddaughter and had an excellent roast beef dinner that evening. Woke up Sunday to the smell of bacon frying and biscuits baking. Daughter was up fixing a "farm" breakfast for the four of us and it was actually enjoyed by five. There were some tidbits for Sleepy Dawg to have some too. A baked ham, fresh green beans and new potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, and deviled eggs lunch came around at noon. At 1330 we set off for the church again where our granddaughter, fourteen years of age, was baptised into the Roman Catholic church and became a member of the worldwide Christian community. Miz Anne and I were the proud godparents and were pleased to have several other members of our family present. This was our first adult Catholic baptism since mine some 41 years ago. We are very pleased with our eldest granddaughter and her decision as she is a lovely, loving child. We also got to see our eldest grandson and his lady and their baby Zoe. Zoe gurgles and laughs and is happy to see everyone and we all got to hold her and make her smile and laugh. It was a delightful family day and we are grateful for what has been given us in this life. It was good to get home though, back to our gardens and our hearth. Sleepy is sleeping in my easy chair, Miz Anne is at a Lenten class she is attending, and I am catching up on a couple of hundred emails. Life is good. George
