Re: [gardeners] Too hot for Peppers?

I don't know about umbrellas but the old Italian fellows in our neighborhood
when I was a kid put up muslin or cheesecloth "shades" over their tomatoes and
peppers when it got very hot. A friend raises both in pots and moves them into
the shade in the late afternoon to shield them and does well.

I think that a little shade in hot climates will help extend your growing
season.
