they grow thousands of acres of a tobacco called  cigar outter wrapper.

This is all grown under a shade cloth.  ~ miles of it..

It's white, and has very fine mesh.

My grandfather used to grow this in Southern Ohio!  I remember it hanging 
from the barns for drying.
