Yesterdays T-day lunch was cotto salami sammiches on rye bread with sweet/hot mustard, pickles, olives, and giardinera. Today my daughter and her largish clan are coming. So far there is: a pumpkin pie, a cloud top cherry pie, a dozen deviled eggs, a very large pan of cornbread dressing with lots of sage and dotted with butter, baked beans slow cooking in the oven, whole kernel corn sitting in the pot on the stove, and a largish spiral sliced ham waiting for the oven. Miz Anne is vacuuming the house rather quickly, we just got the kitchen cleaned up, the cars are in the new garage (making it look like we're not at home) with the door closed, and the leaves are swept off the walks. Neither of us slept well last night, awaiting the arrival of our chicks and in anticipation of playing with the greatgranddaughter. Bet we sleep well tonight though. Do love that family of ours. LIfe is good. George, Miz Anne, and Sleepy Dawg - hoping everyone had an excellent holiday.
