Anne,

Ahhh remodeling is so costly! We have been able to buy some nice peach
marble at Home Depot at a good price, and a marble sink and cabinet and
toilet at a local Home Improvement store for a fair price. I told them I
could get it at HD in color for a lower price than they were charging. They
called HD gave up on confirming it and sold it to me at the less $60 price.
It was trued what I was told at HD, but it is nice to give the business to a
local store.

My order of seeds from Johnny's and Kitchen Gardens arrived today so I am
greatly cheered. All work on the clean up and repairs came to a screeching
halt on Dec. 24. Well, Monday it's back on the phone to get the roofer here,
and the clean up crews and mold control underway.

Mary-Anne,
Your trip sounds heavenly.  To bad about the damage found upon returning
home.  It won't be long before it is all straightened out and you are
once again living your normal life (ha! whats that? for me anyway).  I
bet a few of the others on the list have given you ways to combat the
mold problem.  That alone may be the longest lasting problem.  I know
that our home seems mold free, until one day it's as if it magically
appears everywhere.  In our kitchen we finally took down all the walls
to the 2x4's and rebuilt.  It made a big difference, as the area had
been leaky for years before we bought the house.  Now we are doing the
bathrooms the same way, one at a time.  We have 3 and they are not easy,
as the fixtures in there are all custom sizes.  It is not easy to find a
bathtub to fit when the new ones are about a foot shorter than the
largest we can afford (they get pricey quick).
