[gardeners] this is spring?

Dear List,

  Okay, there is entirely too much yakking about sweet early spring...(just 
kidding! but need some sympathy) here in the DC area we are still recovering 
from the largest ever recorded snowfall ... 27 inches!  Yesterday I had 
three avalanches of snow off of my roof.  The first avalanche took out 2 out 
of the 4 large, fifty-year old boxwoods in front.  The ones that I have so 
lovingly and dedicatedly topiaried into cones and triangles.  The 2nd 
avalanche took out the camelia bush and a gutter from the back roof.   Just 
hacked it in half!  (the bush, not the gutter) And then the 3rd avalanche 
chopped up the the last 2 out of 4 boxwoods.  There are broken branches and 
little boxwood leaves scattered all around like... carnage!  Waugh!  When 
will the madness end?  (probably when my night-blooming cereus blossoms)
