Brandywine is very shy in bearing, misshappen, and late. In addition,
to me it tastes like it is about to rot and has the slight aftertaste of
garbage. It is also a little mushy. If one really likes that
particular taste, and there must be many who do as it consistently wins
taste tests, I suggest Pruden's Purple which has more and earlier fruit
with essentially the same flavor.
