Hi Catharine,

I think you are aware that both Seymour's Seeds and Totally Tomatoes are
subsidiaries of Shumway. Another subsidiary is Vermont Bean Seed. I have
spoken with the new president of Shumway and got the distinct impression
that I was talking to a "wheeler dealer".

I may be paranoid but, like you, I won't trust that bunch farther than I
can throw them. I get practically all of my seed from individuals with
whom I trade to quite an extent. I do trust Tomato Growers' Supply and
Southern Exposure Seed Exchange and use both regularly.

I think I'll pass on Caspian Pink this year. I already have 192 plants to
grow out and that's a lot of seed to save.
