I have no idea who you would need to get in touch with, but I will be looking myself and will bring you up to date if I find anything. My interest is tweeked in a beneficial use for this "weed". Personally, I wouldn't see any harm in allowing a bit of propagation if there was a medicinal use for it. But, there are some pretty stringent laws addressing these issues when it comes to a species such as kudzu that has adapted and caused so much harm to the natural environment in the SE US.
